Understanding Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in Adolescents: Diagnosis, Treatment, and Long-Term Impact

Abstract

Author(s):

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects a significant number of adolescents, impacting their academic performance, social interactions, and overall mental health. This paper explores the various aspects of ADHD in adolescents, including its diagnosis, treatment options, and longterm outcomes. ADHD is often characterized by symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, which can lead to challenges in both educational and social settings. The paper examines current diagnostic criteria, treatment strategies, including behavioral interventions and medication, and the potential long-term effects on individuals with ADHD. By understanding ADHD in adolescents, this study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of effective interventions that support the management of symptoms and promote positive outcomes in adolescence and beyond.
